A Heritage Restoration
Ballynorthland Manor in Dungannon, Northern Ireland, is a grade B1 Listed Building constructed in stone. It was recently painstakingly restored and insulated.
Enviroform Solutions designed and supplied the insulation system for the external walls and the existing ground floor slab without the need to excavate.
The Enviro-Stud Natural Wood Fibre fully breathing system was used on the walls and Spaceloft Aerogel was used on the floors as it is the thinnest most effective insulation material on the market. Ourselves and Fabric First Ltd, the contract installers, worked closely with the client and architects throughout the project to make sure every detail was considered and signed off.
Under the direction of Warwick Architects, the original building has been tastefully restored from its most recent use as a nursing home and it now is an exclusive collection of uniquely designed residences. The traditional stone building boasts many beautiful architectural features including original arches and round windows.
All works carried out on the Grade B1 listed building had to comply with conservation principles and heritage building products used for the restoration. All works were carried out with approval of HED.
The building, which was formerly known as Manor Court Nursing Home is now private residential apartments and duplex accommodation.
The works involved minimal alteration to exterior fabric and minimal alteration to the masonry support walls internally. The layouts were designed in such a way that each apartment is uniquely dictated by the fabric of the existing building.
Traditional features that were removed through the previous uses of the building were reinstated to create high end residential accommodation in a unique location.
